TASHKENT, March 20. / ITAR-TASS /. The project on the metal recovery from oil shale began in Navoi region of Uzbekistan based on deposit Sangruntau. "Project financing of $ 250 million will be funded by foreign loans and the country", - told reporters the representative of the government.

He recalled that in October 2012, the Russian Institute "Atomenergoproekt" / St. Petersburg / completed for the company "Uzbekneftegaz" front-end-engineering design for construction project oil shale processing plant on Sangruntau deposit  . The project estimated cost of $ 600 million also includes processing 8,000,000 tons of oil shale and production to 1 million tons of oil a year. Reserves of oil shale in Uzbekistan is estimated by experts at 47 billion tons. The output of the diesel fraction of tar shale deposits Sangruntau is about 30 percent, which is the highest among the major fields of this type in the country.
